“THE PACKAGING REVOLUTION”

M&S Black Logo

‘The Packing Revolution’ is the sustainable packaging rebrand for Marks & Spencer.

In 2007, M&S launched ‘Plan A’, in relation to the environmental sustainability of the company. According to their site, they have been working on reducing their impact on the planet since it launched (Marks and Spencer Corporate, 2024). I chose to work on packaging, as it’s something that isn’t focused on enough as it should.

The fact the world creates 141 million tonnes of plastic packaging per year is mind-blowing (Business Waste, 2024), these figures can be reduced by making changes to the use of materials in packaging. M&S is a huge, dominant brand and can make huge positive impact if done right.

This rebrand compromises of a seed paper swing tag, jute shopping bag and a window display showcasing the rebrand.
